Fire Safety and Community Helpers

Fire Safety week is October 5 – 11. This is the perfect time to teach a Fire Safety/Community Helper theme. Here are some great books to read during your community helper theme:

I borrowed the picture and directions for making Edible Fire Trucks from Mrs. Pohlmeyers Kindergarten page to create a printable direction sheet for this snack. This is a great fine motor and following directions activity for my students: edible-fire-trucks

Making Learning Fun has some wonderful ideas on their website. Here is a link to their Dalmation coloring page. Students add the dots to this picture, this would be a great math activity: Fire Dalmation Dot Art. They also have this adorable color, cut and paste fireman activity: Fireman Cut and Paste. Check out these vocabulary cards, you just need to supply letter tiles to march letters to spell the words (this would be a great center activity): Fire Words
